Engineering

Engineering Manager

We are looking for an experienced engineer to help manage and lead our growing and extremely passionate and talented engineering team. You will be an engineering leader at a 30-person company, and are expected to contribute significantly to the product & company direction.

As software engineers at MindMeld, we use the latest machine learning and natural language processing technologies and workflows to power a new class of intelligent voice-driven assistants. While experience and knowledge of ML/NLP is a plus, we are looking for someone who will spec, architect, and implement complex software systems, someone who will provide career guidance and mentorship to our engineers, and more broadly, someone who cares about shaping the way people interact with technology.

This will be a very hands-on role; expect your days to be filled with architecture discussions, product decisions, and coding. We look forward to meeting and working with you!

Things We Look For:

  • B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Computer Science or equivalent
  • 1-5 years of management experience, focusing on the challenge of attracting and retaining great talent, and of the impact that culture has on a team
  • You are currently or have been a software engineer in the past
  • Experience using and building web service API platforms
  • Experience building scalable computing infrastructures

Machine Learning Engineer

MindMeld is working on some of the most challenging problems in applied AI. We are utilizing modern statistical machine learning techniques to better understand natural language inputs for any custom knowledge domain. We are looking for a talented software engineer who has experience with machine learning and an interest in natural language understanding and information retrieval.

Our ideal candidate will have either a strong academic background or a proven track record in the industry. We look for candidates with experience building high performing machine learning classifiers for complex systems. Additionally, experience with applied NLP toolkits and modern search ranking techniques is very relevant for this position.

Things We Look For:

  • B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Computer Science or Machine Learning
  • Solid knowledge of statistical classifier models (HMM, SVM, deep/recurrent ANN, CRF, LMT, etc.) and of best practices in attribute selection, dimensionality reduction, runtime performance optimization
  • Familiarity with toolkits such as Scikit-learn, numpy, scipy, R, Weka, Matlab, NLTK, Stanford CoreNLP
  • Fluency in Python or other scripting languages
  • Knowledge of NLP techniques such as PoS tagging, NP chunking, shallow/deep parsing, NER
  • Knowledge of IR concepts such as statistical search ranking, knowledge graphs, vectorial semantics, LSA, document clustering

iOS Engineer

We are looking for a talented engineer who loves building cutting-edge native apps for the iOS platform. Our ideal candidate will have either a strong academic background or a proven track record in the industry.  We look for candidates that have experience building and deploying apps in the App Store and are current with both the latest iOS capabilities and App Store practices.

Things We Look For:

  • B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Computer Science or equivalent
  • Fluency with Objective-C, Swift and Cocoa Touch
  • Experience with performance optimization on iOS
  • Strong understanding of Internet technologies and mobile development
  • Familiarity with visual design and user experience principles

Product

Product Manager

MindMeld is pioneering a new generation of advanced AI to make it possible for applications to understand spoken language with human-like accuracy. Our flagship product, MindMeld, is the first technology platform which enables companies to create awesome conversational experiences for any application or device. We are looking to hire an experienced Product Manager to drive the design and development of features on our core platform.

The ideal candidate has a strong technical background and enjoys diving into the details with the engineering team. We are particularly interested in individuals who have hands-on experience defining and deploying API platforms. You will also be responsible for researching markets and competition, defining and communicating product vision, and guiding product implementation. You should be excited to work in a high growth startup out to change the world, and have a passion for cutting-edge conversational technology.

Responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain your team’s roadmap and milestones. Collaborate closely with engineering to establish well understood product requirements that translate to successfully implemented features.
  • Prioritize your team’s work and manage the backlog of features to ensure that the team is working on the highest priority things each day. Do whatever your team needs to help them keep moving.
  • Communicate product goals to your team as well as other functional areas of the company on a regular basis.
  • Act and think independently, track and analyze all components of our platform, and drive integration with customers.
  • Proactively gather inputs from Engineering, Product, Marketing, and Sales to provide insights and facilitate alignment between all parts of the business.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of product management experience at a technology company
  • B.A or B.S in Computer Science or related technical field
  • Demonstrated capacity for driving product strategy, shipping, and iterating on successful products
  • Outstanding organizational and analytical skills
  • Ability to thrive working independently, with engineering teams, as well as cross-functionally (sales, marketing)
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills

Nice to have:

  • Knowledge of NLP techniques such as PoS tagging, NP chunking, shallow/deep parsing, NER
  • Knowledge of IR concepts such as statistical search ranking, knowledge graphs, vectorial semantics, LSA, document clustering
  • Experience working with Redis, Elasticsearch
  • Experience with API creation and documentation
